Andrej Kapor was the concert master of the Budapest Bach Consort at the age of 17.
The young violinist is currently studying at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Building on his
success, Kapor - our youngest talent we may offer -, became the first violinist in the Age
of Enlightenment Orchestra, London Royal Academy of Music. Besides his solo performances
Kapor shares the stage with a pianist playing a wide variety of duo masterpieces from
Sibelius, Beethoven, Saint-Saens and other classical geniuses. Additionally Kapor plays
string quartet with talented fellow musicians from Budapest Bach Consort. Andrej claims
to be closest to the compositions of Brahms, Mozart and Bach.
Kapor has the thrilling ability to impress both ordinary audiences and most demanding
lovers of classical music.
The young violinist was born in Serbia, in 1994 then moved to Hungary and started
playing at the age of 9. In 2013, he
applied for the well-known Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest, to master his
technique and pick up the classical baroque influence from his teacher László Paulik.
Succesfully Kapor was awarded for scholarship at
Sibelius Academy Helsinki, which is known to be one of the best classical music institution
in Europe. Kapor participated in the master classes of internationally renowned violinists such
as John Holloway, Päivyt Meller, Rachel Podger, Simon Standage, Kati Debretzeni, Dimitry
Sinkovsky, Sándor Devich, Anton Steck, Malcolm Bilson pianist and many other outstanding
performers.
Kapor has appeared many times as the soloist of the Concerto Budapest Orchestra, the
Duna Symphonic Orchestra as well as other orchestras playing the concerti of Sibelius,
Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Saint-Saens and Mendelssohn with modern and historical
instruments, throughout Europe. At the moment Andrej kapos is the concert master of the
Budapest Bach Consort. He is also a member of the Orfeo Orchestra, and the Gustav Mahler
Jugendorchester.
Due to his excellent work and brilliant talent Kapor was invited to the Royal
Academy of Music, London, where he performs with Margaret Faultless, a well known
violinist, and with Chi-Chi Nwanoku, principal
double bassist.
Furthermore, he had the opportunity to work together with great conductors like
Herbert Blomstedt, Christoph Eschenbach, Philippe Herreweghe, Leo McFall, Rolf Beck,
Zoltán Kocsis and György Vashegyi.
Kapor gave concerts in numerous concert halls of Budapest, Amsterdam, Helsinki,
Hamburg, Salzburg, Dresden, Cologne, Essen, Lübeck, Luzern, Szombathely and
Bolzano, as soloist and with different formations as well.
